Recorded in the Hypothec Section are all credits secured by certain causes of preference, the benefit of separation of estates in as much as it affects immovable property, as well as renewals of privileges and hypothecations, and notes of reference.

Transfer of Property

The registration of transfers of immovable property and real rights thereon, partitions, transfers Causa Mortis and wills and marriage settlements is catered for at this section.

Civil Status

This branch deals with the registration and issue of copies of Acts of Birth, Marriage and Death. This Section deals with all annotations to these Acts. Statistical data is also regularly supplied to Government departments.

Land Valuation

The processing of applications for the decontrol of privately owned dwelling houses in terms of the Housing (Decontrol) Ordinance 1959, is the major activity of this section.
