Mr Anthony Geraldi was born in St Venera and attended the Gzira Primary School for his primary education. He then proceeded to the Minor Seminary for his secondary education. Being successful in the ordinary GCE and advanced Matriculation, in 1966 he started his tertiary education at the Major Seminary where he was a regular student for the B.A General Course at the Royal University of Malta for the first two years. Afterwards he finished the examinations equivalent to the degree in Philosophy, at the Archbishop’s Seminary in 1970. Before entering the Civil Service he acquired work experience in insurance, banking and teaching. He worked also as wages and accounts clerk.
Mr Geraldi entered the Civil Service on the 1st July 1976 after a public examination and was posted at the Lotto Department where he served as officer-in-charge in different sections. In 1988 the Lotto Department was computerized and he was chosen as project leader. In August 1998 he was transferred to the Corradino Correctional Facility as Head of Accounts and Administration. Subsequently in January 2000 he was again transferred to the Government Property Division in charge of Accounts and Administration.
Between 1980 and 1985 Mr. Geraldi followed a course in Religious Studies at the Faculty of Theology and graduated B.A in the subject in December 1985. In 1993 he was chosen to follow a four month course at the R.I.P.A. Institute, London, in Management Information Systems.
On the 8th January 2002, after a successful call for applications, he was appointed Information Management Officer within the then Ministry for Justice and the Environment. He was confirmed in the post again in January 2005, within the Ministry for Justice and Home Affairs.
On the 27th November 2006 he was appointed Director (Passport and Civil Registration) and Acting Director Public Registry.
Mr Geraldi is married to Josephine nee Gatt and has a daughter, Miriam.
