Dr. Cora Vella (nee` Ellul) was born in Attard on the 20th January 1963.  She was educated at St. Joseph’s Convent, Sliema, St. Aloysius College, Birkirkara, and at the University of Malta from where she graduated as Notary in 1985 and as Doctor of Laws in 1986.  In December 1994 she obtained a Diploma in Canonical Marriage Cases Jurisprudence and Procedure.

Following a brief period in private practice she started her career in the Public Service by being appointed Notary to Government in 1987.

She was appointed to her present post of Chief Notary to Government and Keeper of Notarial Archives in June 2004.

She is married to Dr. Noel Vella and they have five children.
