MAGISTRATE DR. CONSUELO SCERRI HERRERA

Dr. Scerri Herrera studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart (1979), St. Aloysius College (1982) and at the University of Malta where she graduated LL.D in 1989. She obtained a Diploma in Canonical Marriage Cases Jurisprudence and Procedure from the Ecclesiastical Tribunals of Malta in 1999.

Between 1988 and 1997 Magistrate Herrera was a partner in the legal firm, Herrera and Herrera Advocates. She was appointed Magistrate in 1997.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera presented her thesis on the “Historical Development of the Constitutional Law of Malta 1921-1988” when she graduated as Doctor of Laws at the University of Malta. She has published many articles in different law journals and attended seminars organized by foreign jurisdictions, the most recent being a seminar held in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Minority Rights and another conference on Judicial Capacity held in Brussels, Belgium. She has lectured regularly at the University of Malta and the Police Academy and has been appointed examiner of various theses presented for the Degree in Law at the University. She has also been nominated to sit on Commissions set up by the Executive in connection with legal matters.
