Mr. Joseph St. John was born at St. Julians on 21 October 1974. He received his secondary education at St. Michael School and obtained a B.A. (Hons) degree in English from the University of Malta in 1999.
He joined the Civil Service as a Principal Officer in 2000 and was posted at the Ministry for Economic Services, where he performed duties relating to the EU accession process at the Permanent Secretariat and later at the Office of Review. In 2001 he was appointed EU Coordinator at the Ministry for the Environment, whereas in 2002 he was posted at the Ministry for Home Affairs and the Environment to continue performing his duties as EU Coordinator. Later in 2002 he was promoted to the grade of Senior Principal Officer. In 2003 he was appointed Assistant Director (EU Affairs) at the Ministry for Justice and Home Affairs.
In 2007 Mr. Joseph St. John was appointed Director (Policy Development) at the Ministry for Justice and Home Affairs.
Mr. Joseph St. John is married to Rachel St. John nee Bellia, B.Educ (Hons).
